Job Description
The company is looking for a Mechanical Discipline Lead in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This role involves acting as a specialist expert on large-scale projects, contributing to both the pre-construction and execution phases. You'll be involved in developing design strategies, collaborating with consultants and specialized subcontractors, and optimizing designs for constructability and cost.
During the pre-construction phase, you will work closely with the design management team, review drawings and specifications, and liaise with the estimating team to ensure mechanical scope is accurately priced. After a contract is awarded, you'll continue to oversee the design to ensure it aligns with the project's initial concepts and requirements, including reviewing subcontractor submissions and supporting site testing and commissioning.
This position is ideal for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 15 years of experience, including 10 years in a design role within the mechanical discipline. Expertise in complex mechanical systems, alternative project delivery methods, and BIM-VDC is highly valued. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills are essential for collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients in a fast-paced environment.
