This role is for a hands-on technician to support the foundry team at the Quebec Metallurgy Centre. You'll be involved in various casting processes, from wax and sand molding to die-casting, and will use a 3D sand printer to create molds. The position also includes performing essential laboratory analyses, such as metallography, mechanical testing, and chemical analysis, to support research projects. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the equipment to ensure everything runs smoothly. The company is looking for someone with a DEC in metallurgical engineering technology or an equivalent qualification. A good understanding of different forming processes and methods for characterizing sand molds and cores is important. You should also be familiar with mechanical and metallographic characterization techniques, including hardness, chemical, mechanical, hardenability, and corrosion testing, as well as metallographic analysis. The ability to calibrate lab instruments according to standards is also key. This is a full-time, project-specific position until August 30, 2027, based in Trois-Rivières, Quebec.
