Job Description
The company is looking for an Architect to join their team, focusing on the renewal, repair, and modernization of existing facilities within a transit system. This role involves assessing building conditions, developing design solutions, and preparing construction documents for various structures. You'll be working closely with engineering and support teams, conducting field investigations, and ensuring designs meet standards and operational needs.
You'll assist in documenting existing facilities, updating drawings, and developing design concepts. Coordination with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural disciplines will be key, as will supporting the preparation of technical specifications and cost estimates. The position also includes site inspections, reviewing shop drawings, and collaborating with maintenance teams to minimize service disruptions.
A Bachelor's degree in Architecture and at least three years of experience in assessing and renovating existing buildings are required. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is essential, along with knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility standards. The ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and work safely in active transit environments is also important.
