Job Description
The company is looking for a Data Protection Engineer to manage and secure their data protection platforms, both in the cloud and on-premises. This role involves overseeing global backup operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and working with vendors to keep solutions up-to-date. The engineer will be responsible for standardizing and modernizing backup systems to support business continuity.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing backup and recovery solutions, managing the NetBackup platform's lifecycle, and ensuring the availability and security of the data protection infrastructure. The role also requires managing the data lifecycle, from retention to archival, and performing regular backup testing and restoration to verify data integrity and meet recovery objectives.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with backing up PaaS workloads and containerized applications, along with a strong understanding of disaster recovery and data lifecycle management. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, enterprise backup certification, a Microsoft Azure certification, and at least 5 years of experience in enterprise backup and data protection technologies are required.
