Job Description
IDF STUDIO SCENERY INC is looking for a CAD Drafter/Project Coordinator/Fabricator in San Fernando, California. This role involves translating client designs and sketches into detailed fabrication drawings, primarily using Vectorworks Spotlight. You'll also be responsible for generating CNC files and coordinating with the fabrication team to ensure projects are built efficiently and on schedule.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of blueprints and a knack for problem-solving, especially when dealing with tight deadlines and design changes. Experience with Sketchup, Illustrator, and Photoshop is also beneficial. You'll be working closely with clients to manage timelines, material selections, and any necessary modifications.
A background in wood fabrication is essential, with knowledge of power tools like table saws, chop saws, and routers. While not strictly required, familiarity with metal and acrylic fabrication, along with experience in the entertainment industry, would be a definite plus. This is a hands-on role for someone who is mechanically inclined and can effectively communicate throughout the project lifecycle.
