Job Description
The company is looking for a Data Centre Mechanical & Electrical Engineer in Penang, Malaysia. This role involves developing and updating data hall layouts and M&E drawings, ensuring they align with project requirements and site conditions. You'll also be involved in coordinating power distribution, including selecting cable sizes and busway capacity, and working with subcontractors on technical specifications.
Your responsibilities will extend to site coordination and construction support. This means liaising with various contractors, clients, and consultants to manage site progress, resolve interface issues, and ensure works are implemented according to design and schedule. You'll attend site meetings and help close out coordination issues.
To excel in this position, a degree or diploma in a relevant engineering field is preferred. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM for drafting, along with at least a year of site management or construction coordination experience, is valuable. Familiarity with data center power and cooling architectures, server requirements, and electrical concepts like busway systems and UPS would be a strong asset. Good communication and coordination skills are essential for working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
