Job Description
The company is looking for a Process Safety Engineer specializing in refrigeration to join their team in Québec, Canada. This role involves contributing to process risk analyses, safety management programs, and the safe design of ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems for clients in the food, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries.
You'll be involved in planning and leading risk assessments like HAZOP and LOPA, reviewing process safety information, and preparing clear technical reports. The position also includes supporting the development and auditing of Process Safety Management programs and learning about dispersion modeling. You will also contribute to ammonia safety deliverables, conduct site inspections, and perform mass and energy balance calculations.
To be successful, you should have a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering and at least two years of experience in process safety and industrial refrigeration. Familiarity with refrigeration systems, relevant codes and standards, and the ability to interpret P&IDs are essential. Strong technical writing and communication skills are also key.
