Job Description
The company is looking for a coastal engineer to join their team in Quebec, Canada. This role involves supporting municipalities with coastal engineering projects, focusing on sustainable solutions that balance technical constraints, financial capabilities, and government requirements. You will work on diverse coastal contexts, often sensitive environmentally and socially.
Your daily work will include contributing expertise to FQM's coastal engineering projects, managing projects, and liaising with stakeholders. You'll advise and support local and regional municipalities throughout the project lifecycle, producing various administrative, technical, and governmental documents. This includes reviewing studies, estimates, plans, and submissions, as well as participating in project oversight and data collection coordination.
This position requires a university degree in oceanography, coastal engineering, or civil engineering, and membership in the OIQ. You should have at least two years of relevant experience in coastal engineering, knowledge of coastal protection structures, and experience with erosion analysis or coastal risks. Familiarity with hydrodynamic, geotechnical, or environmental studies, along with strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, are essential.
