Job Description
This role involves reviewing building plans to ensure they meet the Ontario Building Code and related standards. You'll be focusing on industrial, commercial, and institutional projects, checking architectural, structural, and life safety requirements.
You'll work closely with designers, developers, and contractors, providing technical guidance and answering questions. This position requires you to assess plans for compliance, suggest corrections, and collaborate with building inspectors to resolve any design or construction issues.
A background in Architectural or Civil Engineering Technology, along with several years of experience in building code enforcement or construction/design, is needed. You'll also need to obtain specific provincial qualification examinations within your first year.
