Job Description
This company is seeking an experienced Lead Inspector to oversee a significant tunnel project in Columbia, Maryland. You'll be instrumental in monitoring the construction of an 18-foot diameter tunnel, ensuring it aligns with design specifications and quality standards.
Your role will involve inspecting various aspects of the tunnel construction, including outfall, CSX crossings, and shaft excavation using both Drill and Blast and TBM methods. You'll be responsible for documenting progress, identifying any issues, and reporting on contractor compliance, as well as reviewing reports from junior inspectors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground construction, with at least 11 years of project experience and 5 years specifically in tunnel inspection. Familiarity with project document control systems and the ability to interpret drawings are essential. This position requires a willingness to work weekends.
