The company is looking for a Surveyor to join their team in Bath, Maine. This role involves working across the entire shipyard, from the initial layout of materials to the final delivery of ships. You'll collaborate with various teams and engineers to supply essential data for the construction process. Your responsibilities will include laying out construction lines for plates, units, and the ship itself, as well as installing and aligning major equipment. You'll also monitor the ship's progress to ensure construction and fit-up meet required tolerances. Strong math, geometry, and trigonometry skills are essential. While a degree in a related field is preferred, it's not strictly necessary. Two years of experience in construction or industrial surveying would be beneficial, as would familiarity with 3D data models and surveying software. The ability to obtain a government security clearance is also a requirement for this position. If you're detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced industrial setting, this could be a great fit.
