BIM Surveyor
Job Description
A company in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada is seeking a Surveyor for an 18-month contract with potential extensions. This role involves conducting structural surveys on submarines or military vessels, not commercial ships.
The day-to-day will include performing visual inspections of tanks, compartment structures, pressure hull structures, and hull penetrations. You'll be using specialized surveyor tools like pit gauges, feeler gauges, and bridge cam gauges to identify and map structural defects within a coordinate system for reporting.
A key part of this position is documenting identified structural issues and preparing reports with recommendations for repairs. This requires comfort in translating technical findings into clear documentation. The role is based onsite at the CMF Cape Scott Dockyard in Halifax, requiring a 5-day-a-week commitment.
If you have experience in structural surveying on naval vessels, this could be a great fit.
