This role is all about ensuring the quality of materials used in roadway and bridge construction. You'll be on-site, taking samples and performing essential tests to make sure everything meets the required standards. It involves checking that construction work aligns with plans and specifications, and accurately documenting completed work for payment. You'll need a driver's license and the ability to obtain a CDL within six months. A year of experience in construction contract administration, maintenance, inspection, design, or materials is required, or a relevant two-year or four-year degree can substitute for some experience. Certifications like Aggregate Production Tester, and one of the following: Concrete Field Tester, Concrete Plant Tester, Bituminous Plant Tester, Grading & Base Tester, or Bituminous Street Inspector are also necessary.
