This company is looking for a BIM Technician to join their team in Lafayette, Louisiana. You'll be responsible for creating design models, including coordination, shop drawings, and as-builts. This involves working with system designs, coordinating models with other trades, and preparing sketches for equipment placement. You'll need to understand National Electrical Codes and be able to read and comprehend contract documents, including one-lines and panel schedules, to execute 3D modeling. A key part of the role is collaborating with site foremen to ensure the modeled work can be easily constructed. You'll also review construction drawings for conflicts and code compliance, working with the project management team to resolve issues through RFIs. The ideal candidate will have experience as a BIM Coordinator, Detailer, or Modeler, with proficiency in MEP Revit and Microsoft Excel. Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication are essential. A background in general construction and electrical components is also beneficial.
