Job Description
The company is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their Hydropower team in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. This role involves developing design packages for hydroelectric balance-of-plant systems, including various voltage levels and associated equipment. You'll be working within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to projects from initial design through to construction support and commissioning.
Your responsibilities will include preparing detailed designs, performing engineering studies using software like ETAP, and developing technical specifications for major electrical equipment. You'll also create engineering drawings and documentation, coordinate with other disciplines for auxiliary plant systems, and support project delivery activities. Maintaining project documentation and ensuring compliance with company standards are key aspects of this position.
To be successful, you'll need a University degree in Electrical Engineering and a P.Eng. designation, with 7-15 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in power generation or utility sectors. Familiarity with North American electrical codes and standards is essential, and experience with AutoCAD or Revit would be beneficial. Strong communication and teamwork skills are also important for this hybrid role.
