Job Description
The company is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their Hydropower team in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. This role involves developing design packages for hydroelectric balance-of-plant systems, including high, medium, and low voltage systems. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing from conceptual design through to construction support and commissioning.
You'll be responsible for preparing detailed designs for electrical systems, conducting and reviewing engineering studies using software like ETAP, and developing technical specifications for major electrical equipment. This includes creating engineering drawings and documentation, coordinating with instrumentation and control interfaces, and supporting project delivery activities. The position is based in St. John's with a hybrid working arrangement and occasional travel to project sites.
To be successful in this role, you'll need a University degree in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation. You should have 7-15 years of experience in electrical design within power generation, utility, or industrial sectors, with hydropower experience being a plus. Familiarity with North American electrical codes and standards, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, is required.
