Structural Engineer
Job Description
The company is looking for a Structures Dynamics Engineer to join their team in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This role involves performing aeroelasticity and aeroservoelasticity analyses and simulations for new aircraft programs and supporting the airworthiness of existing ones. You'll be selecting the best approaches and tools to tackle complex technical challenges, creating and updating finite element models for dynamic and aeroelastic studies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of analysis methods and software tools.
You'll collaborate with various engineering groups, including advanced design, aerodynamics, structures, mass properties, and flight control systems. The position also includes participating in ground and flight flutter testing, interpreting the data, and preparing technical documentation for certification. A university degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, ideally with an aeronautics specialization, is required, along with relevant aeronautics experience.
Familiarity with finite element modeling and analysis tools like Nastran is a plus, as are knowledge of system dynamics, frequency analysis, and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, Fortran, or C/C++. The ability to obtain Controlled Goods (CGD) clearance and an understanding of airworthiness certification requirements are also necessary. If you're ready to apply your analytical and problem-solving skills in a demanding yet stimulating environment, this could be the role for you.
