Job Description
The company is looking for a Senior Heavy Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This role focuses on the design and implementation of major mechanical equipment for hydropower facilities and dams, including gates, hoisting mechanisms, and cranes. You'll be working on both new projects and upgrades, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and external partners.
You'll be the lead technical expert for heavy mechanical systems, setting design criteria, performing calculations, and selecting equipment. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical documents, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and providing support during construction and commissioning. This is a chance to contribute to significant infrastructure projects across Canada and internationally.
To be successful, you'll need a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of relevant experience in hydropower facilities. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Quebec is required, and strong French communication skills are essential. Experience with AutoCAD or Revit and proficiency in English would be beneficial.
